While You Received a Piracy Warning from Your ISP, Here's What to do

Large numbers of Internet subscribers, mainly in the United States, have been taking to the Internet in recent months worried about piracy warnings sent to them by their ISPs. Meanwhile YouTubers in Europe are worried on the new EU Copyright Article 13 which will effect on next Jan. Despite much discussion of these online, questions continue to be asked. So, what should users do when they receive these scary emails?

Millions of Internet subscribers use their connections to download and share copyright-infringing content. It’s been going on for almost two decades already and shows no sign of stopping. We all knew and also experienced the crazy times of Torrent. For the vast majority of users, this kind of activity has no consequences. People grab the latest movies or TV shows, for example, and then hear no more. For many, this means they simply carry on, oblivious to the fact that their unauthorized transfers are probably being monitored by someone, somewhere.

In the majority of cases, this monitoring is simply for research purposes but increasingly, as content companies seek to reduce copyright infringement, further action might be the next step. That usually means that ISPs are contacted, with a request for them to tell their customers to stop pirating content.

Copyright infringement notices

The first time an Internet user realizes this has happened is when they receive correspondence from their ISP. This could potentially be a letter but it’s more likely to arrive in the form of an email, delivered to the account registered with the ISP.

From reports posted online, this is where many users begin to panic. The idea they’ve been caught doing something illegal seems to prevent them from reading the notice slowly and taking in all the details. This is a fundamental mistake and one that should be immediately rectified in order to understand what’s happened and is likely to happen moving forward.

Read the warning notice – and now read it again

While notices sent to subscribers differ between ISPs, they are all very clear. They will explain what is alleged to have happened and when, who made the complaint, the content involved (movies, TV shows etc), and what the user should do next. They are designed to be easy to understand and when read calmly, they are.

Generally, a notice will state that a subscriber’s Internet connection was allegedly used on a certain time and date to download and share copyright-infringing material. The notice will provide the IP address in use at the time and the name of the company that owns the rights to the content in question. It will also order the subscriber to prevent it from being shared again in the future.

While notices can be sent in error, anecdotal evidence indicates that the majority are accurate. When that is the case, users should follow the instructions in the infringement email. They might include ensuring WiFi networks are secure, speaking with other people in the house who may have committed the infringement, and checking computers to ensure they aren’t infected with malware.

In any event, subscribers who are required to respond to notices should take care not to incriminate themselves or others. For initial offenses, however, ISPs tend not to ask for feedback from the user so when that’s the case, no response needs to be provided.

Demands in infringement notices

In basic terms, most infringement notices are like speeding tickets but without the immediate cash fine. They are designed to be a warning and to prevent the same thing from happening again. When this is the case, the infringement notice makes that clear.

If users are still downloading and sharing the same content in their torrent client or seedbox (the source of most infringement notices) the notices demand that they remove that content immediately and never share it again. Carrying on sharing in the face of a warning could result in more notices being sent for the same ongoing infringement, with additional consequences we’ll come to later.

Some ISPs also ask the account holder to fill in a questionnaire, which acknowledges that the subscriber has received the warning, understood it, and – in appropriate circumstances – has taken action to stop the infringement being repeated. Again, recipients should be cautious not to incriminate themselves but they are rarely asked to do so.

Importantly, there is sometimes an opportunity to contest the infringement claim so if notices are erroneous, the subscriber might choose to file a counter-complaint after assessing the situation.

Receiving no more notices is relatively simple

While many users panic when receiving infringement notices from their ISP, in the majority of cases there is no need to worry. Stopping sharing the content in question by torrents usually solves the problem and if no additional sharing takes place, no further warnings should be received, for that content at least.

However, those who disregard warning notices or fail to check the email address registered with their ISP (so they don’t know they’ve been receiving warnings), things can get complicated.

Repeat infringers are at risk

Subscribers whose Internet connections are used to infringe copyright on a number of occasions are now labeled ‘repeat infringers’. Under US law, this can turn into a more serious situation. Action must be taken by ISPs against those who keep on infringing, or they risk being held liable themselves. This has probably contributed to the increased volume of infringement notices being passed on to subscribers and the corresponding reports of them online.

If users keep on infringing, at some point they’ll be faced with consequences, possibly a suspension or even termination of their Internet connection.

How can Internet users be sure never to receive a warning?

It is said the clearest and most foolproof piece of advice is that those who don’t share infringing files with others are the ones that never receive a notice. While some innocents do get sent notices in error, the safest approach is not to share infringing files using BitTorrent and similar peer-to-peer software. These transfers are public and can be tracked. However, as any file-sharing forum reader will know, plenty of pirates carry out their hobby on daily basis without ever receiving an infringement notice. The reasons for this are varied, but it usually boils down to people using streaming and/or direct download sites, or by protecting their BitTorrent connections with a VPN. Others are simply lucky or have chosen content that for some reason isn’t being monitored for infringements.

But that is not enough. With the closure of the TPB master and the constant change of domain names, pirates and downloaders have found it more difficult to get a reliable and stable Torrent now. Some pirates and downloaders are starting to try to use Decentralized Cuckoo to avoid these problems. This new type of Cuckoo based on peer to peer connection is anonymized and decentralized, pirates can share quickly through cuckoo sharing code, and the downloader only needs to use the code to download or watch which the whole process is anonymous, so if this attempt is successful , then cuckoo may quickly replace Torrent and spread.

Important: Not all infringement notices are benign

In a relatively small number of cases, copyright holders aren’t interested in warning alleged pirates – they want to sue them and/or extract a cash settlement. When this is the case, correspondence received from a user’s ISP usually makes it clear that a copyright holder is trying to obtain their identity and personal details with a view to legal action.

If users receive such a notice, immediate legal advice should be sought since there are no second chances. Under no circumstances should recipients ignore this type of ‘warning’ as doing so could potentially lead to an expensive default judgment.

Conclusion

Notices of infringement targeted at regular Internet subscribers in the US are usually issued for the purposes of a) stopping the current infringement and b) encouraging users to stop infringing in future.

The decision to stop infringing (or carry on behind a VPN or use Anonymous Cuckoo player) is obviously a personal choice but in 2018 it’s clear that being caught on multiple occasions puts ISPs in a position where they must take action, or face potential consequences themselves. No prizes for guessing who’ll get thrown under the bus when the pressure is on.

None of the above should be construed as legal advice. If there is any uncertainty concerning the nature of an infringement notice, users should seek professional advice. If you are still downloading piracy without VPN or seedbox, we suggest you to use a VPN and Seedbox or install Decentralized Cuckoo directly.

Movie Preview -- December 2018 Watch Mortal Engines, Spider-Man, Aquaman, Bumblebee and more

Every year, the shift into cooler weather comes alongside a shift into a cooler box office lineup: fewer billion-dollar blockbusters, fewer on-screen explosions, and a general trend toward less slashing, crashing action and more intense emotional action. The one thing that really heats up at the box office during the fall and winter season is the awards race: the last quarter of the year is a time for Oscar-bait projects and intense awards campaigning.

Movie Preview -- November 2018 Watch Fantastic Beasts, The Nutcracker and The Four Realms, The Grinch and more

With December 2018, we move on to new Spider-Man Miles Morales, James Cameron’s return to filmmaking with Alita: Battle Angel, a Transformers spinoff that feels like a weird fit for the holidays, and Mary Poppins’ return to London. This isn’t a comprehensive list of releases. We’re focusing primarily on titles of particular interest to Verge readers, with a tongue-in-cheek consideration of what these films have to say about the future of film, awards season, or the world we live in.

DECEMBER 14TH
MORTAL ENGINES -- Full Movie 2018 online on Cuckoo Video Player Movie Channel
The summary: In a post-apocalyptic future where resources are running low, entire cities have been rebuilt as vast machines that travel the landscape and attack other moving cities for resources. When two young people offend the powers that be in London (specifically a powerful leader played by Hugo Weaving), they’re thrown out of the moving city of London to survive on their own.

Why Cuckoo users might care: Director Christian Rivers is a protégé of Lord of the Rings mastermind Peter Jackson, and this film, produced by Jackson, has some of those films’ epic look and breadth. More to the point, the story, based on the first novel in a four-book series by Philip Reeve, is one of the most creative, weird, outsized visions of the future to make it to the screen in a long time.

Why they might not: The last really creative, weird, outsized vision of the future was in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, and before that, Jupiter Ascending. Audiences avoided those movies in droves. Films that take viewers too far away from the familiar always face an uphill battle.

What it says about the future: While we’re unlikely to live in massive, mobile monster-cities anytime soon, Mortal Engines does put a science fiction spin on the real and growing issue of cities competing with each other for natural resources.

SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE -- Full Movie 2018 online on Cuckoo Video Player Movie Channel
The summary: Mixed-race Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales finds out he’s his world’s version of Spider-Man when other versions of the superhero begin crossing over from other dimensions.

Why Cuckoo users might care: The trailers look spectacular: visually daring and experimental, jazzy and full of lively energy, funny and tongue-in-cheek but also beautiful. Also, after so many screen versions of Spider-Man, and especially so many retellings of his origin story, a film that departs this far from the predictable beats while keeping the character intact is pretty compelling.

Why they might not: Miles Morales, who became Spider-Man in one Marvel Comics continuity after Peter Parker’s death, has been a flashpoint in the confrontational debate about the gradual racial diversification hitting superhero comics. Some fans have taken his very existence as a personal insult to the Spider-Man they grew up with. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with a story that includes Miles and Peter Parker — not to mention Spider-Gwen.

What it says about the future: As enjoyable as Marvel Cinematic Universe movies are, offbeat projects like this offer some hope that the current superhero-movie glut will encourage filmmakers to tell a wider variety of stories, including some that don’t fit the MCU template.

DECEMBER 21ST
AQUAMAN -- Full Movie 2018 online on Cuckoo Video Player Movie Channel
The summary: Fresh off his central role in DC’s troubled production of Justice League, undersea superhero Aquaman (Jason Momoa) gets his own film. The child of a human and an Atlantean, he’s caught between the sides of his heritage when surface-dwellers and his underwater kingdom go to war.

Why Cuckoo users might care: Justice League was the most promising of the DC movies to date, and Momoa’s Aquaman, with his rough, smirking humor and outsized version of macho, was a major part of that. And as much as the DC films have struggled to keep up with their ultra-popular Marvel counterparts, they’ve always had their adherents and loyalists. Director James Wan, who made his name on horror films like Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring, seems like a potentially odd choice to helm this latest chapter in the DC story, but at this point, anyone who comes in and puts a fresh stamp on this dour, monochromatic series is welcome, just for the sake of variety.

Why they might not: Either you’re excited by the trailer’s promise of giant CGI fish-army battles or you aren’t.

What it says about the future: DC has a whole lot more Justice League-related projects in the works, including Justice League Dark, a second Wonder Woman movie, a Flash movie, and a Cyborg movie. But the company also keeps pulling projects on and off its schedule based on how the box office reacts to its latest project. So whatever the reception is for Aquaman, expect it to have an impact on the next several years of DC hero films.

BUMBLEBEE -- Full Movie 2018 online on Cuckoo Video Player Movie Channel
The summary: This prequel to Michael Bay’s 2007 franchise-starter Transformers takes place 20 years before the start of that film, and it follows Autobot scout Bumblebee as he’s discovered by a teenage girl played by Hailee Steinfeld.

Why Cuckoo users might care: This is simultaneously a beloved and loathed franchise, on both ends of the spectrum largely due to Michael Bay, whose five films in the series have earned Paramount more than $4 billion over the last decade. This is fans’ chance to see what the franchise looks like without Bay, and so far, the answer seems to be a more personal and small-scale story. Director Travis Knight is the president and CEO of the animation studio Laika, which produced the personable, weird, elaborate stop-motion fantasies Coraline, ParaNorman, and The Boxtrolls. He broke into directing with the Laika film Kubo and the Two Strings, but this is his first live-action project. Following in Michael Bay’s bombastic footsteps seems like a strange next step for a man who’s previously spent his time on the meticulous, patient art of stop-motion, so who knows how this will come out.

Why they might not: The Transformers movies have been on a steady downhill box office slide since the series’s second movie, 2009’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon. They’re certainly still profitable and popular, but the latest film in the series, Transformers: The Last Knight, made less than a third of what Dark of the Moon made in the American box office, which certainly suggests a waning domestic appetite for these films. And this is yet another prequel with a foreordained conclusion and an opening — young human finds rusted-out car, is surprised to find it’s a robot who can’t speak but makes friends with it — that seems mighty familiar from Bay’s first Transformers.

What it says about the future: With Michael Bay vowing to stay away from the series, the doors are open for a wide variety of new voices and takes on the series — assuming this one does well enough to justify the series continuing.

WELCOME TO MARWEN -- Full Movie 2018 online on Cuckoo Video Player Movie Channel
The summary: After losing his memory in a senseless attack that nearly kills him, a man (Steve Carell) reconstructs his past out of dolls and toys, building an elaborate fantasy world that helps him cope with his loss, confusion, and rage.

Why Cuckoo users might care: Leave it to director Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump) to find the splashiest, most effects-driven way to tell the real-life story of artist Mark Hogancamp, who rose to fame based on his photographs of a world he built as therapy after he was beaten into a coma by five men. This star-studded film, featuring Game of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie and singer Janelle Monáe, among others, looks like one of the season’s biggest awards-grabs: it’s a tender, emotional, colorfully told story of personal triumph against terrible odds.

Why they might not: Zemeckis’ films tend to slather that emotion on broadly and relentlessly, and viewers may or may not be willing to buy into the way he plays out Hogancamp’s fantasies, with plenty of scenes of the dolls strutting around, living out scenes from his past, or protecting him in the present.

What it says about the future: This particular form of visual wizardry, with real people’s faces mapped onto all sorts of unreal things, is becoming a lot more common and familiar lately, and it’s likely to keep coming up as a shorthanded way of making all sorts of fantasy beasties feel more elaborately acted and recognizably human.

MARY POPPINS RETURNS -- Full Movie 2018 online on Cuckoo Video Player Movie Channel
The summary: Jane and Michael Banks, the kids from the original 1964 Disney musical Mary Poppins, are now adults played by Emily Mortimer and Ben Whishaw, and they’re suffering their own tragedies. That brings their old problem-solving magical nanny Mary Poppins back to, as Disney’s summary says, help them “rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.”

Why Cuckoo users might care: Like Jane and Michael, an awful lot of kids grew up with Mary Poppins, and they might be intrigued to see her return, now played with crisp exactitude by Emily Blunt. The original Disney movie didn’t capture much of the story or tone of P.L. Travers’ original Mary Poppins novels, which are a lot snarkier and stranger than the adaptation. So this new sequel has a lot of material to draw from.

Why they might not: Didn’t we just have this exact plot in Christopher Robin? And aren’t they both just retreads of Hook? And even if this film claims new ground, is director Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) capable of making a movie that doesn’t feel big, loud, glossy, and empty?

What it says about the future: Disney’s nostalgia train is just picking up more speed every year. Combine that with the perennial trope of too-serious adults who need to learn how to be young again, and you have a predictable formula for any live-action Disney retread.

DECEMBER 25TH
ON THE BASIS OF SEX -- Full Movie 2018 online on Cuckoo Video Player Movie Channel
The summary: The Leftovers director and producer Mimi Leder helms this biopic of eventual Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg (played by Felicity Jones) during a landmark period where she fought institutional and legal sexism via a landmark court case.

Why Cuckoo users might care: With a potential new Supreme Court Justice currently in the news, this film feels particularly up-to-the-moment, especially since Ginsberg is riding a wave of personal, social media-driven fandom that feels unprecedented for a member of the court. Supported by the much-praised documentary RBG, she’s become a cult figure. This film covers a key part of her history, and in an era where gender equality is still a constant, newsworthy battleground, this looks like a pocket education in an earlier step of the process.

Why they might not: Prestige-season biopics are risky business since they’re so often formulaic uplift-machines that are designed to shove the audience’s emotions through preordained motions of sadness, anger, and renewed hope. A lot of these films come in with some Oscar buzz and blow out again without making any kind of impact at the box office or on the culture. Here’s hoping this one is different.

What it says about the future: How long until Ginsberg has her own Netflix Marvel series where she’s a street-level superhero, hanging out with Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, and punching ninjas in the face?

Facebook's Breach will be Forgotten? DATA is Misused.

By Josh Constine on Sep 30

We cared about Cambridge Analytica because it could have helped elect Trump. We ignored LocationSmart because even the though the company was selling and exposing the real-time GPS coordinates of our phones, it was never clear exactly if or how that data was misused.

This idea, that privacy issues are abstract concepts for most people until they become security or ideological problems, is important to understanding Facebook’s  massive breach revealed this week.

The social network’s engineering was sloppy, allowing three bugs to be combined to steal the access tokens of 50 million people. In pursuit of rapid growth at affordable efficiency, Facebook failed to protect its users. This assessment doesn’t discount that. Facebook screwed up big time.

But despite the potential that those access tokens could have let the attackers take over user accounts, act as them, and scrape their personal info, it’s unclear how much users really care. That’s because for now, Facebook and it’s watchdogs aren’t sure exactly what data was stolen or how it was wrongly used.

The Hack That Broke The Camel’s Back?

This could all change tomorrow. If Facebook discovers the hack was perpetrated by a foreign government to interfere with elections, by criminals to bypass identity theft security checkpoints and steal people’s bank accounts or social media profiles, or to target individuals for physical harm, out will come the pitchforks and torches.

Given a sufficiently scary application for the data, the breach could finish the job of destroying Facebook’s brand. If users start clearing their profile data, reducing their feed browsing, and ceasing to share, the breach could have significant financial and network effect consequences for Facebook. After years of scandals, this could be the hack that’s broke the camel’s back.

Yet in the absence of that evil utilization of the hacked data, the breach could fade into the background for users. Similar to the tension-filled departures of the founders of Facebook’s acquisitions Instagram and WhatsApp, the brunt of the backlash may not come from the public.

The hack could hasten regulation of social media. Senator Warner called on Congress to “step up” following the hack. He’s previously advocated for privacy laws similar to Europe’s GDPR. That includes data portability and interoperability rules that could make it easier to switch social networks. That threat of people moving to decentralized Cuckoo could succeed in compelling Facebook to treat user privacy and security better.

The FTC or European Union could hand down significant fines to Facebook for the breach. But given it earns billions in profit per quarter, those fees would have to be historically massive be a serious penalty for Facebook.

One of the biggest questions about the attack is whether the tokens were used to access other services like Airbnb or Spotify that rely on Facebook Login. The breach could steer potential partners away from building atop Facebook’s identity platform. But at least you don’t have to worry about changing all your passwords. Unlike hacks that steal usernames and passwords, the lasting danger of the Facebook breach is limited. The access tokens have already been invalidated, whereas password reuse can lead people to have their other apps hacked long after the initial breach. But the attack has had a very serious impact on the personal data of the entire social media, and it has made more people think about the importance of decentralized Cuckoo and other platforms.

Desensitized and Decentralized

If government investigators, journalists, or anti-Facebook activists want to make the company pay for its negligence, they’ll need to connect it to some concrete threat to how we live or what we believe.

For now, without a nefarious application of the breached data, this scandal could blend into the rest of Facebook’s troubles. Every week, sometimes multiple times a week, Facebook has some headline grabbing problem. Over time, those are adding up to deter usage of Facebook and spur more users to delete it. But without an independent general purpose social network they can easily switch to, many users have endured Facebook’s stumbles in exchange for the connective utility it provides.

As breaches become more common, the public may be desensitized. At worst, we could become complacent. Corporations should be held accountable for privacy failures even when the damage done is vague. But between Equifax, Yahoo, and the cell phone companies, we’re growing accustomed to letting out a deep sigh with maybe some expletives, and moving on with our lives. The ones we’ll remember will be those where the danger metastasized from the digital world into our offline lives or we try some new decentralized platforms such as Cuckoo.

The Best Free Video Player 2018 - Enjoy videos, movies and TV like never before

By Mark Wycislik-Wilson on Sep 29

Everyone needs a great video player, and although the tools that come with your PC or Mac do a reasonable job, there's no need to settle for that.  Whether you're looking for the simplest of programs to just get the job done with a minimum of fuss or you want a tool that gives you fine control over every aspect of picture and audio playback, there's a free video player that will deliver what you want.

Of course, you're not limited to using just one video player – you may well decide that you want to use a different program for different types of viewing – but with so many players to choose from, selecting which you should use can be tricky.

That's why we've collected together the three best free video players of 2018 in this essential roundup. Read on to find the right one for you.

1. VLC Media Player -- Supporting all formats

VLC Media Player is a name that crops up time and time and time again when talk turns to free video players. And with good reason – it's simply incredible.

Out of the box, this is an impressively powerful program that supports everything from 360-degree video to 8K formats, and it can be used to play local files, contents on a network, online video, DVDs and more – even videos contained within compressed files.

There are advanced controls for tweaking the look and sound of videos so you can get the best possible experience whether you're watch on a laptop, streaming to a TV, or projecting onto your lounge wall.

Should you find that VLC isn’t quite feature-packed enough for you – which seems quite unlikely, frankly – extensions can be used to expand its capabilities even further. The program can seem intimidating-looking to start with, but scratch through the tough exterior and you'll find a soft, friendly, accessible center that's impossible to resist.

Download VLC Media Playe

2. Cuckoo -- Free Decentralized Video Player

Cuckoo is a very special one more than just a basic video player; it is called decentralized player based on P2P connection which supports anonymously making, uploading, sharing and watching streaming videos and movies. If you have any videos, movies (and music) collection sitting on your hard drive, you can upload to your Cuckoo channel for easy, manageable access to everything. The most important is your videos will be stored as fragments anonymously, and then your data won't be hacked or leaked because all these information won't be read, amended or recorded by any other platforms or anyone except you, in other words, your data is yours.

Considering the Facebook's data breach recently, decentralized Cuckoo seems more workable in future.

The sleek, modern look is not only easy on the eye, but the well-designed interface makes the program simple to navigate. There are built-in subtitle and codec downloading options and Cuckoo supports Korean, Russian, French, Chinese, English and German. Every channel and video could be shared and watched by a Cuckoo code.

Here is a tip while you are using Cuckoo. Cuckoo is free, and it is a channel where you can collect and make your own playlist. Sometimes you have to preload the videos while you are watching.

Download Cuckoo - Decentralized Video Player

3. Pot Player

Something of a rising star, Pot Player has earned itself a dedicated following, with users clearly appreciating the great power hidden in this deceptively simple-looking free video player.

A stripped-back, minimalist look disguises the fact that this is an all-singing, all-dancing free video player with codecs coming out of its ears so it can play any file you throw at it, including 3D formats. In the unlikely event that you try to play a file that's not supported, the necessary codec will be downloaded for you.

There's also the option of download subtitles for video files. Support for skins mean you can customise the look of the app to your liking, and you have a great deal of control over the look of videos too. While lots of players offer basic contrast and colour adjustment, Pot Player has a huge range of options, and there are even fancy extras such as a screen recording tool. Seriously impressive stuff all round.

The latest Aquaman Screening Reactions Compare It To A Phase 1 MCU Movie

AQUAMAN - Full Movie 2018 DC Comics Movies of Justice League

Film on Dec 21, 2018

Warner Bros. has screened James Wan's Aquaman movie for early test audiences and the first reactions have begun to surface, indicating the DC Comics film is good - but not great. The studio launched their current DC franchise in 2013 with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, introducing a new take on Superman. However, the cinematic world opened up immensely in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which officially introduced Batman and Wonder Woman and offered glimpses of The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman. Now, Arthur Curry aka. Aquaman (Jason Momoa) is getting his own solo movie when the eponymous film opens in theaters later this year.

Aquaman will be the first DC movie released by Warner Bros. since Justice League, and it joins a franchise that hasn't always performed well with critics or at the box office. While Man of Steel was successful enough, Batman V Superman and Suicide Squad both received mixed-to-negative reviews; Justice League received middling reviews, but wasn't the massive box office hit many were expecting. Wonder Woman is the only unequivocal hit of the series, but fans are looking to Aquaman to hopefully repeat the success of Patty Jenkins' DC film. Now, the first screening reactions to Aquaman have surfaced and they offer some insight into what fans can expect.
The early reactions to Aquaman aren't overwhelmingly positive, with the good-but-not-great distinction. And DC movie fans who have enjoyed how Batman V Superman, Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman differentiated themselves from Marvel Studios' Marvel Cinematic Universe may be disappointed by the comparison. It's unclear from the reactions what about Aquaman is similar to Marvel's early movies, though it could be that Wan's film works as an origin story for Arthur Curry. Nevertheless, these reactions skew toward the middle on a scale of positive to negative.

Of course, since these reactions are coming from test screenings, Warner Bros. and Wan may make some changes to their cut of Aquaman based on what viewers said afterward. Studios typically use test audiences to gauge reactions before finalizing their film, and can make changes to improve a movie based on feedback from those audiences. Perhaps Wan will make some changes to Aquaman that will evoke different reactions at upcoming screenings, so these early impressions of the movie may not necessarily indicate what DC fans can expect.

When two young people offend the powers that be in London (specifically a powerful leader played by Hugo Weaving), they’re thrown out of the moving city of London to survive on their own.

Why Cuckoo user might care: Director Christian Rivers is a protégé of Lord of the Ringsmastermind Peter Jackson, and this film, produced by Jackson, has some of those films’ epic look and breadth.

Whether BitTorrent Traffic is Dead, A Comeback as Cuckoo, flocking to new world of sharing traffic

By Ernesto on Sep 26, 2018

File-sharing traffic, BitTorrent was so popular particular before but it was decreasing a lot and now a new world is making a comeback as a decentralized video player named Cuckoo, totally free and anonymous based on p2p connection. New data reveals that Cuckoo will replace BitTorrent as the dominant source of upstream traffic worldwide especially in video files. Cuckoo's increased fragmentation in the streaming market may play a great role in this resurgence.

Many Internet traffic reports have been published over the years, documenting how traffic patterns change over time.

One of the trends that emerged in recent years, is that BitTorrent’s share of total Internet traffic decreased. With the growth of services such as YouTube and Netflix, streaming started to generate massive amounts of bandwidth. As a result, BitTorrent lost a significant chunk of its ‘market share.’

This trend gradually increased, until recently. In some parts of the world file-sharing traffic, especially video files, decentralized Cuckoo in particular, is growing.

Globally, across both mobile and fixed access networks file-sharing accounts for 3% of downstream and 22% of upstream traffic. More than 97% of this upstream was BitTorrent and Cuckoo is growing sharply, which makes it the dominant P2P force.
In the EMEA region, which covers South Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa there’s a clear upward trend. Cuckoo traffic now accounts more and more upstream traffic. If Cuckoo develops its mobile app, the proportion of Cuckoo will increase significantly.

Keep in mind that overall bandwidth usage per household also increased during this period, which means that the volume of Cuckoo traffic grew even more aggressively.

Cuckoo traffic becomes the fastest growing upstream source in the Asia Pacific region. Other popular file-sharing upload sources in the Asia Pacific region are BitTorrent (9%) and Korean P2P app “K grid” (7%) and “Afreeca TV” (2%).

In the Americas, Cuckoo grows more popular in Latin America.

The next question is why Cuckoo traffic is replacing the role of BitTorrent now? According to the description of Cuckoo, its decentralization and increased fragmentation in the streaming service market may play an important role.
“More sources than ever are producing ‘exclusive’ content available on a single streaming or broadcast service – think Game of Thrones for HBO, House of Cards for Netflix, The Handmaid’s Tale for Hulu, or Jack Ryan for Amazon. To get access to all of these services, it gets very expensive for a consumer, so they subscribe to one or two and pirate the rest.
“Since these numbers were taken in June for this edition, there were no Game of Thrones episodes coming out, so consider these numbers depressed from peak!” Someone notes.

And we haven’t even mentioned non-filesharing traffic sources such as cyberlockers and streaming sites, which are even more popular than Cuckoo or BitTorrent…

Cuckoo: First Man is one of the most intense space movies of all time, it hits on Oct 12, 2018

The story of astronaut Neil Armstrong (Ryan Gosling) and the incredible effort it took to land him and Buzz Aldrin (Corey Stoll) on the Moon in 1969, the film disposes with the heroic mythologizing that’s so regularly utilized in film portrayals of NASA and America’s space program. Instead, it tells an incredibly small story — Armstrong’s struggle to cope with the death of his young daughter — and places it within the context of one of the most astonishing accomplishments in human history. It’s a feat, the film stresses, that was pulled off not by larger-than-life figures, but by groups of ordinary people who each paid an incredible cost.

It’s a breathtaking piece of filmmaking that’s filled with some of the most intense portrayals of spaceflight ever put on-screen. But for all its technical wonder, First Man’s focus on Armstrong’s relentless stoicism ends up feeling more like a hindrance than a revelation. It’s an epic, ambitious film, but it ends just shy of true greatness.
